Nate Turner is a clean energy veteran with 20+ years taking innovative industrial energy projects from concept to operation. As CEO of Hayzel, he is commercializing the Liquid-Vapor-Expander (LVE), which turns chillers into power plants by capturing the energy normally wasted across the expansion valve and converting it into carbon-free electricity. The LVE cuts cooling-related Peak PUE by more than 15%, easing the data center's draw on the grid and freeing capacity for revenue-generating compute in AI factory design.

Hayzel's first unit has been running at a Digital Realty site in California since 2025, a project supported and verified by the US Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and the LVE won the Cooling and Thermal category at the Data Center World Innovation Challenge this year. A Northwestern-trained engineer, Nate works with data center operators and chiller OEMs to bring the technology into both retrofit and new-build designs.
